The Schools Programme will run on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th May in Garter Lane.
On Tuesday 28th Waterford One World Centre will also host a Community Programme in Garter Lane from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. This event will provide an opportunity to experience African music, dance and food and will include a screening of the film Africa United.
Africa Day falls on 25th May each year, with events running from May 20th-27th. It is an initiative of the African Union, and aims to celebrate African diversity and success and the cultural and economic potential of the continent. In Ireland, events to mark Africa Day are supported by Irish Aid, the Government’s programme for overseas development, and Waterford City Council.
Waterford One World Centre and Waterford City Council are among a number of organisations around the country that have been supported by Irish Aid to host Africa Day events this year. For more details on any of the events please contact the Waterford One World Centre on 051 873064.
