This year County Clare will celebrating its African community with the launch of a portrait exhibition in Clare County Chamber. This exhibition celebrates the diversity of the African community in Clare, the contribution of Africans to life in the county and the experiences of migrants and second/ third generation families here. It features families, singers, carers, refugees, entrepreneurs, people in the asylum process, those who came here for love, people who have made Clare their home by choice, circumstance or necessity. Each one contributing richly to the fabric of the county.
This exhibition will be launched in Ennis on the 25th at 11am and move to locations across the county for the following 4 weeks, reflecting the diversity of the African Community across the county. We will have music from Scoil Chríost Rí Ennis, Redeemed African Church of God and Holy Family Junior School, as well as some solo singers. HFJS were awarded a yellow flag for their work on diversity and inclusion in the school this March and we commend them for their achievement. The children will showcase some of their work to achieve this award.
