1. Where can I get a ticket?
Africa Day Dublin is a free, non-ticketed event. Everyone is welcome.
2. What time does it all kick off?
Africa Day Dublin begins at 11am. Do come early as there will be a jam packed programme of events for you and your family to enjoy. Phoenix Park tends to be quite busy with traffic at weekends, so those driving may experience delays. Please see additional traffic information below.
3. Where is it?
Africa Day Dublin takes place in Farmleigh Estate which is accessed through the Phoenix Park.
4. How do I get to Africa Day Dublin?
The best way to get to Africa Day is by using public transport! Farmleigh in Phoenix Park is serviced by a variety of public transport options, so leave the car at home!
Dublin Bus has kindly sponsored free shuttle buses bringing you from the entrance of Phoenix Park to Farmleigh.
These buses will run from the bus stop opposite the main entrance to Phoenix Park at Parkgate Street and will drop people close to the entrance to Farmleigh.
The LUAS red line stop at Heuston Station is just a seven minute walk away from the bus stop opposite the entrance to Phoenix Park.

Trains serving Coolmine, Castleknock, Ashtown and Dunboyne stop at the Ashtown and Phoenix Park Train Station, which is a relatively short walk from Farmleigh.
The following Dublin Bus routes will bring you to Phoenix Park, dropping you at Parkgate Street:
Route No. 25 - From Pearse St to Lucan (Dodsboro)
Route No. 26 - From Pearse St to Palmerstown (Cherry Orchard)
The following routes will drop you at the Ashtown Gate:
Route No. 37 - From Hawkins St. to Blanchardstown Road South
Route No. 38 - From Hawkins St. to Damastown
Route No. 39 - From Hawkins St. to Ongar
Route No. 70 - From Hawkins St. to Dunboyne
The No. 46a will drop you at Infirmary Road.
The No. 37 bus from Baggott Street will drop you at the Castleknock Gate. Enter the Phoenix Park and take the narrow pedestrian pathway through the field to your immediate right. Walk down this path until you reach a road. Turn right and you should see the gates of Farmleigh a short distance away. Farmleigh is a fifteen minute walk from the Castleknock Gate.
There will be very limited amount of parking available, and we would really encourage everyone to use public transport where they can.
5. Do I need to bring anything?
Africa Day Dublin is outdoors and knowing our Irish weather you may want to bring an umbrella and sun cream!
There will be a variety of food on offer ranging from Ethiopian to Moroccan. However, do feel free to bring a picnic. There are a limited number of picnic tables available so don’t forget your picnic blanket. Please note that Africa Day Dublin is an alcohol free event.
