Visitor Information

1. Where can I get a ticket?

Africa Day Dublin is a free, non-ticketed event. Everyone is welcome.

2. What time does it all kick off?

Africa Day Dublin begins at 11am. Do come early as there will be a jam packed programme of events for you and your family to enjoy. Phoenix Park tends to be quite busy with traffic at weekends, so those driving may experience delays. Please see additional traffic information below.

3. Where is it?

Africa Day Dublin takes place in Farmleigh Estate which is accessed through the Phoenix Park.

4. How do I get to Africa Day Dublin?

The best way to get to Africa Day is by using public transport! Farmleigh in Phoenix Park is serviced by a variety of public transport options, so leave the car at home!

Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus has kindly sponsored  free shuttle buses bringing you from the entrance of Phoenix Park to Farmleigh.

These buses will run from the bus stop opposite the main entrance to Phoenix Park at Parkgate Street and will drop people close to the entrance to Farmleigh.

Luas

The LUAS red line stop at Heuston Station is just a seven minute walk away from the bus stop opposite the entrance to Phoenix Park.

More information on taking the Luas to Africa Day can be found here.

Train

Trains serving Coolmine, Castleknock, Ashtown and Dunboyne stop at the Ashtown and Phoenix Park Train Station, which is a relatively short walk from Farmleigh.

The following Dublin Bus routes will bring you to Phoenix Park, dropping you at Parkgate Street:

Route No. 25 - From Pearse St to Lucan (Dodsboro)

5. Do I need to bring anything?

Africa Day Dublin is outdoors and knowing our Irish weather you may want to bring an umbrella and sun cream!

There will be a variety of food on offer ranging from Ethiopian to Moroccan. However, do feel free to bring a picnic. There are a limited number of picnic tables available so don’t forget your picnic blanket. Please note that Africa Day Dublin is an alcohol free event.
