Limerick City & County Council in association with Doras Luimní presented a number of events in celebration of Africa Day 2018. The events kicked off with an official launch by the Mayor on Monday, May 21st in City Hall and comprised of a World Recipe Exchange, an African food experience “Now We Cooking”, and Cultural Discovery of Sudan. There were also be a series of talks and workshops aimed at raising awareness of African culture and heritage in Limerick.
There was also be an African Cup Football Tournament, run with assistance from the FAI and An Garda Síochána. Finally, a Family Fun Day was held in the Milk Market on Sunday, May 27th and included music, crafts, entertainment and food.
