Africa Day events will take place in Limerick throughout the week of Monday, 23rd May. The theme for this year’s events in Limerick is “Reflection”. The festivities will showcase and celebrate the diversity and richness of Africa’s many different cultures.
- On Monday, 23rd May there will be a full day event consisting of the official launch of Africa Day celebrations in Limerick, as well as an interactive seminar. The seminar will take place in the Strand Hotel. Pre-booking is necessary for this event.
- Tuesday, 24th May will see two events taking place as part of the Programme for Schools and Youth. The first event will be held in the City Library from 10am-12pm, and will consist of a drumming and art workshop. The second event will take place from 4:30pm-6:30pm in Limerick Youth Service.
- On Thursday, 26th May, a film screening of ‘Invasion 1897’ will be held in Mary Immaculate College from 6pm-9pm. There will be finger food served afterwards.
- Sunday, 29th May will see a ‘Family Fun Day’ take place from 2pm-6pm in the Milk Market. At the event there will be music, fashion, dance, food and children’s activities.
