With excitement building ahead of the big day, we can’t wait to see K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade strutting their stuff on the Kwassa Kwassa main stage at Africa Day’s flagship Dublin event this Sunday.
The nine-piece group delivers infectious West African vibes from Ghana via Sheffield. Their diverse origins conflate to whip up their signature heady brew of afrobeat, soul, funk and reggae, otherwise dubbed “Afro-fusion”.
Under the leadership of K.O.G, the Ghanaian born force of nature, they are a whirlwind of energy, rhythm and hard hitting musical unity which has been taking the UK by storm. They have become a fixture on the UK festival circuit and regularly tour throughout Europe. In 2015, they played Glastonbury having been chosen from 6,000 bands to play the massive West Holts stage via their emerging talent competition.
Having released their debut, the “Akwaaba” Live EP, and with an album in the works, they are garnering increasing attention and are quickly growing their fan base with each powerful performance.
Head over to their YouTube channel to get a taste of what to expect.
